Score calculation
Every Chozr score is personal to you. Choose food or cosmetics to see exactly how it is calculated.
We rate each product for you personally using several scores, including Safety, Goal fit, Nutrition, and one overall score.
The score does not use one rule for every food. It follows a category-aware, safety-first flow:
First, we identify what kind of product this is — for example water, a sugary drink, a sweet snack, a protein bar, fruit, an oil, a cheese, or a ready meal.
Each category is judged with its own nutrition rules, so sugar in fruit isn’t treated like sugar in a soft drink, and an oil isn’t judged like a breakfast cereal.
We check your allergens, your diet and restrictions, any “may contain” trace warnings, and how processed the food is.
Safety is a guardrail: your overall score can never be higher than your safety score, and a direct allergen or diet conflict brings the overall right down — no matter how good the rest looks.
We then check how well the product fits your personal goal — general health, weight loss, diabetes control, keto, or muscle gain.
Your nutrition priorities — high protein, low sugar, low sodium, low carb, or high fiber — fine-tune the result.
Nutrition is the biggest part of the overall score. We use an official Nutri-Score–based rating built from calories, sugar, saturated fat, salt, fiber, protein, and fruit/vegetable content — weighted for the product’s category.
Risky additives lower this rating (a high-risk additive caps it), and a certified-organic product earns a small bonus. Plain water is the reference and scores at the top.
We show several scores — Safety, Goal fit, Nutrition, and one overall score.
The overall is mostly your Nutrition rating, plus your Goal fit, plus a smaller Safety weight — with Safety always acting as a cap. Nutrition is the same for everyone (it’s about the product), while Safety, Goal fit, and the overall are personal to each profile.
We rate each cosmetic product for you personally using two scores — Safety and Goal fit — plus one overall score.
The score does not use one rule for every product. It works ingredient by ingredient, with safety weighted most:
First we work out what the product is and how it is used — a leave-on serum, a rinse-off cleanser, a shampoo, a body lotion, a sunscreen.
Format decides what a formula can realistically do. An ingredient that has hours to work in a leave-on cream is mostly washed away in a cleanser, and a hair product is matched against your hair answers rather than your skin answers.
Safety looks only at the formula, never at you, so it reads the same for everyone. We check each ingredient against the EU cosmetics rules and the health concerns on record for it.
A product containing a high-risk ingredient cannot reach a high safety score, and one with a moderate-risk ingredient is held back too. Where nothing concerning turns up, the score starts at the top, only small deductions apply, and it never drops below the middle of the scale.
Goal fit is the personal half. We match the formula against your skin or hair profile: your goals, your skin type and sensitivity, anything you react to, and whatever you asked to avoid.
Two things feed it. Whether the product really contains ingredients that work on what you are trying to improve, in a meaningful amount, judged by how high up the ingredients list they sit. And whether anything in it is likely to bother you.
Sometimes Goal fit shows a dash instead of a number. That is deliberate: we would rather say nothing than invent a personal score we cannot stand behind. A product that simply is not the kind of thing that could serve your goals is scored neutrally instead, not marked down.
While Goal fit is missing, your overall score is the Safety score on its own. Filling in the matching profile is usually all it takes to get the number back.
We show two scores plus one overall: Safety, which is about the product, and Goal fit, which is about you. Safety reads the same for everyone, while Goal fit and the overall are personal to each profile.
The overall blends the two, with Safety carrying the most weight. When Goal fit is not available, the overall is simply the Safety score.
Every score runs from 0 to 100, and its color shows at a glance how well a product fits the profile you are looking at.

Some things fit and some don't. The breakdown shows which.
A weak match, or a safety concern that outweighs everything else.
Every score starts with facts about the product itself. When you scan a barcode, we look the product up in large product databases. When you take photos, we read the ingredients list, the nutrition table and the front of the pack straight from your pictures.
If something is still missing, we search the web for the product's details. And when a pack simply doesn't list everything, the missing part is estimated for a typical product of that kind and clearly marked as approximate, so you always know what was read and what was estimated.
A number on its own doesn't tell you much, so each score comes with its reasons. Under it you'll find what works in the product's favor and what holds it back, written in plain language rather than lab terms.
You can open each part of the breakdown, and each flagged ingredient or additive, to see what we found and why it matters for you.
The same yogurt can be a great everyday choice for one person and a poor one for another. That's why every score in Chozr is calculated for the profile you're looking at, with its own goals, allergies, diet and preferences — and, for cosmetics, its own skin and hair.
Add your family members and you can switch between them on the same result. One scan answers the question for everyone at home, without scanning the product again.
Goals change, and so do diets and allergies. Whenever you update your profile, new scans use your new answers straight away.
Products you scanned earlier are marked once your profile has changed since, and you can re-analyze them in one tap to see how they fit you now.
A Chozr score is a quick, honest guide for everyday choices, in the shop and at home. It sums up a lot of information so you don't have to read every label and look up every ingredient yourself.
It is not medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment. If you have a medical condition or a serious allergy, always check the label yourself and follow your doctor's advice.
